The 2018 WPC Wireless Charging Industry Summit Is About To Open In Chengdu. Are You Ready?

- Apr 13, 2018-

The 2018 Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) Summit was recently held in Seoul, South Korea. The meeting lasted from April 9 to April 12. The Korea Summit will include more than 180 well-known companies from home and abroad, including Apple, Samsung, LG, Google, Huawei, and Xiaomi, to visit and discuss the most advanced wireless charging technologies at home and abroad. This year, the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) once again focused its attention on China and will hold a summit in Chengdu, China from September 11th to 14th. The conference will be hosted by the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) and hosted by CPS. The conference will include three parts: the Alliance Member Working Group Technical Seminar, the Qi Developer Forum and the Wireless Charging Technology Exhibition.

There is no doubt that 2017 and 2018 are the era of wireless charging. More and more smart terminals and cars support wireless charging. The number of members of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) has exceeded 500 and the number has reached 514.

The WPC is the first industry standard organization for wireless power and has established a normative industry standard for 15W low-power applications. The purpose of this standard is to achieve interoperability between various charging boards and portable devices. Products that have been certified by the WPC Consortium will be identified with the words "Qi", and terminals with "Qi" may be charged on all charging boards marked with the LOGO.

As the world’s largest wireless mobile communications market, China’s demand for convenient, easy-to-use, interoperable, and compatible wireless charging products is growing at a geometric level. Among the WPC members, there are a large number of Chinese companies. The potential of wireless charging industry development is bound to promote Chinese and foreign companies to actively participate in and study this market.

It can be seen from the table that the number of WPC members has nearly doubled from six months ago, and it is predicted that the wireless charging market for mobile phones, wearable devices, and on-board devices will continue to grow rapidly this year, and will also promote the growth of related raw material markets. It is conceivable that the scale of the September summit this year must be unprecedented.
